The sixth day of the Navratri festival is devoted to Maa Katyayani, the 6th manifestation of Goddess Durga. Once there was a good sage named Katya and it had been his want that Maa Hindu deity should turn his daughter. He did several things for many years to please the Gods. The trinity of God's" Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva" got enraged and they designed Goddess Durga, who was an end result of the abilities of all deities. Since she was born to Katya, she was known as Katyayani.

Maa Katyayani has 3 eyes and 4 hands. She holds a blade in her one left-hand and a lotus in another. The other two hands severally show protective and permitting actions. People make a vow of fasting and worshipping her. It is the same by doing this she would bless one with the desired husband.

If a lady's marriage is getting delayed due to one or the other reason, she may worship Maa Katyayani to remove obstacles that may be causing delays in her marriage.
