What is Devshayani Ekadashi?
Devshayani Ekadashi is a holy Hindu ritual. The holy event of Devshayani Ekadashi is observed once a year. Devshayani Ekadashi is primarily marked in dedication to the Supreme Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is among the top three deities, along with Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva, called Trinity.
When is Devshayani observed?
Devshayani Ekadashi falls on the 11th day in the Shukla Paksha moon phase in the Hindu month of Ashadha. Shukla Paksha is the waxing-rising phase of the moon in the lunar month’s fortnight. The Ashadha month in 2019 is from the 22nd of June to the 22nd of July. This date-time of Devshayani Ekadashi corresponds to the Gregorian-English calendar period June-July.
